Coated Rotors

When it comes to brake rotor durability and rust protection, not all coatings are the same. Dash4 Coated Rotors feature an advanced full-immersion dipping process—not just surface painting.

Unlike painted rotors, where coverage can be thin, uneven, and prone to flaking, Dash4’s dipped coating fully surrounds the rotor for complete, uniform, and long-lasting corrosion resistance. The result: rotors that don’t just look better at installation but stay protected longer, even in harsh environments with rain, snow, salt, and humidity.

Why Dipped is Better than Painted

  • Full Coverage Protection – Surface paint only coats visible areas, often leaving edges and cooling vanes exposed. Dash4’s dipping process ensures 100% coating coverage, including the hard-to-reach areas where rust usually begins.
  • Durability Under Heat – Painted coatings can blister, chip, or burn away under braking temperatures. Dash4’s dipped coating bonds more effectively to the rotor, resisting breakdown under heavy loads and high heat.
  • Longer-Lasting Finish – Dash4’s dipped silver-gray finish maintains a clean, professional look far longer than conventional paint or zinc coatings.

Ready to Install – No Cleaning Required

Standard rotors are often shipped with an oil film that must be cleaned before installation. Dash4 Coated Rotors are processed dry, shipped dry, and install-ready right out of the box.

No degreasing means faster jobs and lower costs—saving 1–2 hours per axle. During initial use, the friction surface safely clears as pads seat, while all non-friction areas remain coated and protected.

Quiet, Smooth, and Balanced Braking

Each Dash4 Coated Rotor is CNC-machined to precise OE tolerances and finished with a non-directional surface, ensuring faster pad bedding, smoother stops, and reduced noise.

All vented rotors are also electronically mill-balanced and 100% inspected to guarantee vibration-free operation and OEM-quality fitment.

Dash4 Coated Rotors vs. Painted Rotors

Feature Dash4 Coated Rotors (Dipped) Painted / Zinc-Coated Rotors
Application Method Full immersion dipping ensures 100% coverage, including edges & vents Spray or brush application — often leaves edges & vents exposed
Coverage Quality Uniform, complete coating on all surfaces Inconsistent coverage, thin spots, and uncoated areas prone to rust
Durability Under Heat Coating is bonded through dipping, resisting chipping, blistering, or burning Paint/zinc can peel, flake, or burn off under high braking temperatures
Rust Protection Superior long-term corrosion resistance, even in rain, snow, and salty road conditions Limited rust resistance — corrosion often starts at missed areas
Appearance Over Time Maintains clean, silver-gray finish longer Coating wears unevenly, leaving patchy or rusted appearance
Installation Time Shipped dry, clean, and ready to install — no prep or degreasing required Often requires cleaning/prep before installation, adding labor time
Performance Coating naturally clears from friction surface during use — no noise or negative effects Uneven coating wear may lead to noise, vibration, or pedal pulsation
